Why mentor with Shape

The structured kind
of mentorship.

Casual mentoring is great. The kind that actually moves someone's career is rare, because it needs structure. Shape gives you that structure, the cohort, and the rhythm.

// 01
RI

Real impact, not vague advice

You review real output on real briefs. Your feedback feeds into the readiness score and lands on a verified profile. It actually moves the needle.

// 02
PT

Paid for your time

Mentors are compensated for sessions and reviews. We respect that senior time has a cost and that good mentorship is work.

// 03
NW

A network you can hire from

You meet pre vetted juniors over weeks of work. If your team is hiring later, you already know which ones to call.

The mentor role

What you actually
do as a mentor.

Four things, in order of how much time they take. No corporate noise, no busy work. The role is built around the things that matter for a Shaper to become company ready.

01
Weekly one on one sessions
A 45 minute session with your Shaper. Their current project, their blockers, their trajectory. Mostly listening, then redirecting.
02
Project reviews
When a Shaper ships a deliverable on a real brief, you review it. Honest, specific feedback, written and verbal, that they can act on.
03
Readiness evaluation
Each evaluation cycle, you score your Shaper across a clear rubric. The score is what moves them toward the recruitment pathway.
04
Endorsements & warm intros
When your Shaper earns a skill, you endorse it on their profile. When their work warrants it, you make warm introductions in your network.

04

Kickoff

You meet your Shapers, agree on the cadence, and run your first weekly session in week one of the cohort.

"Five hours a week, every week, for a cohort. What I get back is two or three juniors I have watched think out loud, push through hard reviews, and ship real work. Two of mine joined our team. I have never had a better hiring pipeline."

Frequently asked

Becoming a Shape mentor, the honest answers.

How much will I be paid?
Compensation is per session and per review, calibrated to seniority and specialization. We share specific rates on the conversation step, after we understand your background. Mentors typically earn between 200 and 500 TND per cohort, depending on how many Shapers they take on.
What if I do not have time for 3 to 5 hours per week?
Then mentorship at Shape is not the right fit right now. The minimum is set so a Shaper actually feels supported. If you want to contribute less time, Shape Talk panels, guest reviews, and partner roles are lighter forms of involvement.
Can I mentor remotely from outside Tunisia?
Yes. The program is fully remote, with sessions in evenings to accommodate working schedules across time zones in the region. We have mentors in Tunis, Paris, Dubai, and Berlin.
What languages do mentor sessions happen in?
English or French, depending on the Shaper and you. We match on language during the matching step. Most mentors run sessions in English; some Career Change tracks are in French.
Will I have to design curriculum or write content?
No. Shape owns the curriculum and the briefs. Your role is one on ones, reviews, and evaluations. If you want to contribute content, the Shape Talk series is open to mentor guest features.
Can I hire a Shaper I mentored?
Yes, and we encourage it as long as the hire is the right move for both sides. We facilitate the introduction and the offer process to keep the boundaries clear between the mentoring relationship and the hiring decision.
What is the minimum commitment?
One full cohort. Foundation is 21 days, Advanced is 3 months, Career Change is 6 months. You can pick which program type you want to mentor. Many mentors stay on for multiple cohorts once the rhythm clicks.
